Job Description

Hi, I’m Lisa, Founder of GRIP Coaching.

I’m looking for a Marketing Manager who can genuinely take marketing off my plate and own it.

Right now, much of our marketing sits with me. I’m ready for someone to step in, bring structure, creativity and consistency, and help us grow our visibility and credibility in a way that feels human, grounded and aligned to who we are.

This role is about owning content creation, publishing and engagement across our channels, refining our messaging, managing our newsletter, testing new platforms, and using insight and data to guide what we do next.

You will have autonomy and space to bring ideas, while working closely with me to ensure what we put into the world truly reflects our values, voice and purpose.

This is a 3 month, part time, self employed contract with a clear focus on outcomes rather than hours, and with the opportunity to extend based on performance and fit.

About GRIP Coaching

I believe being a middle manager shouldn’t be sh*t.

GRIP Coaching supports middle managers and emerging leaders to grow their confidence, capability and impact at work. We work with organisations ranging from small businesses to large corporates, with a growing focus on the BPO sector in South Africa.

Our work is people centred, practical and grounded in real experience. Thought leadership, credibility and consistency matter to us. We care deeply about doing work that actually helps people, not just ticking boxes.

About You

You believe good marketing is about speaking to people like people.

You understand that growth comes from clarity, connection and trust, not noise or gimmicks. You enjoy ownership, you’re curious, you bring ideas, and you care about doing work properly.

You are comfortable working independently, but you value collaboration and open communication. You show up with warmth, professionalism and integrity, and you take pride in delivering high quality work.

The Role

This is a hands on role where you will be fully immersed in the business.

You will build a strong understanding of how I think, how I communicate, how we position our work, and who we serve. That includes supporting content creation, shaping messaging, and then taking ownership of scheduling, publishing and managing engagement.

You will be responsible for:

  • Day to day management of LinkedIn and Instagram

  • Creating, scheduling and publishing on brand content

  • Actively engaging with comments and direct messages

  • Developing and refining messaging and positioning

  • Managing and publishing the GRIP Coaching newsletter

  • Testing and exploring platforms such as TikTok and Threads

  • Making recommendations based on insight, data and performance

Weekly Deliverables & Expectations

This role is deliverables led. While the exact mix may evolve, you will be expected to deliver consistently each week, including:

  • Agreed volume of social media content created and published

  • Active engagement and community management across platforms

  • Progress against agreed content themes and thought leadership focus

  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of performance metrics

  • Proactive ideas, insights and recommendations

Clarity on weekly priorities will be agreed together, with accountability for delivery.

Your Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant marketing experience

  • Experience managing LinkedIn and Instagram for a business

  • Strong creative ability and original content thinking

  • Confidence creating, shaping and refining written content

  • Ability to plan, schedule and deliver content consistently

  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards

  • Ability to measure, track and report results clearly and accurately

  • Confidence using data to inform decisions

  • Strong organisation, reliability and follow through

  • Ability to self manage and take ownership

  • Own equipment and reliable internet connection

  • Based in Cape Town

Desirable

  • Experience in leadership development, coaching, professional services or the BPO sector

  • Experience launching or growing emerging platforms

Contract & Progression

This is a 3 month self-employed, part-time contract focused on delivery and outcomes with a fee of R10,000/month . There is a clear opportunity to extend the contract based on performance, results and alignment with the direction of GRIP Coaching.

Application Process

To apply, please submit:

  • A short 2 to 3 minute video introducing yourself and sharing why this role feels right for you

  • Your CV

  • A short cover letter

Applications will close at midnight on Wednesday 11th February 2026.

I’m less interested in perfect CVs and more interested in how you think, how you work, and how you show up.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy doing and growing into, I would love to hear from you.
